Font size: Decrease font Enlarge font

After the death of Mirza Haider Dughlat, Idi Raina who had emerged in the state politics as Chief Minister, continued with the previous arrangement on the throne of Kashmir. He treated his colleagues with respect and reward them with suitable jagirs. The courtiers equally co-operated with Idi Raina and extended every support, moral and material, when the country invaded by Haibat Khan Niyazi. But this time also the unity among the nobles was shortlived as Daulat Chak won over to his side a good number of nobles and raised a banner of revolt.Idi Raina had to flee and while trying to escape on horseback, got his neck entangled in a vine creeper and died on the spot.

Daulat Chak, immediately after taking the realms of power in his hands, deposed Nazuk Shah and installed Ibrahim Shah on the throne but he himself became victim of feud within the Chak family and was outshed from power by Ghazi Chak, his cousin.
