Mir Khan also known as Ali Shah proved to be weak and incomplete to conduct the affairs of his country smoothly. Choatic condition prevailed as a result of rivalries amongst his ministers and nobles. Unable to cope with the problems, the king decided to go on pilgrimage to Mecca and entrusted the care of his kingdom to his younger brothers Shahi Khan and Mohammad Khan, but at Jammu his father-in-law persuaded him to abandon the idea of pilgrimage and return to the valley. His brothers. Particularly Shahi Khan, were not happy with the decision of Ali Shah and with the help of Jasarat Khokar, foiled the attempt of Ali Shah to regain the throne of Kashmir.
