SULTAN SHAMS-UD-DIN …….. SHAH MIR (1339-1342 A.D.):

Right from the day of accession to the throne of Kashmir, the new king introduced economic reforms so as to increase the production in the country. Most of the arbitrary taxes levied in preceding regimes were abolished and state share on the produce of land was fixed at 1/6. While administering the country,no distinction was made on the basis of caste, creed or religion. In commemoration, to Richana’s accession to the throne of Kashmir era which was in vogue for a long time. The king died after a brief rule of three years and was buried at Sumbal near Inderkot.
