Kashmir
Geography
The Kashmir valley forms an important geographical region known, as,’ The lesser Himalyas’ or ‘The Jehlum Valley’ while as other two regions of the state are, ‘The Outer Himalyas’ or ‘The Southern Mountain Region (Jammu Province) and ‘ The Inner Himalyas’ or ‘The Indus Valley’ (Ladakh and Frontier areas).

Nature has been kind enough to Kashmir to provide it with ample water resources which comprise rivers, lakes, springs, glaciers and under-ground water resources....LAKES
The Lakes of Kashmir are remnants of the ancient lake which, once occupied the entire valley and subsquently dissipated with the discharge of water through Baramulla-Khadanyar Gorge, in consequence of ecological changes from time to time.In this description of the lakes of Kashmir,vigne explains that the Dal is applied to a lake in the planes while Sar is the term for a Morass and Nag is used as a name for mountain lakes....Springs And Spring Heads
