Chakri is another type of folk song usually sung  by males. It consists of  five to six persons with musical instruments,singing lyrics of the famous Kashmiri poets and Sufi saints like Wahab Khar,Mehmooda Gani, Waza Mehmood, Rasool Mir, Tsucha Kral, Lalla Arifa, Mehjoor, Habba Khatoon, Rajab Hamid etc. 

There is a rich variety of pastrol songs which acquire a singular charm when songs in chorus by village bellies during the harvest season. Folklorists have divided the pastrol songs into two categories, those sung in Kashmiri by the shephereds of Kashmir and the other recited by Gujjars in their own dialect.
